Fried Egg and Peppers Over Savory Oatmeal!
Jun 10 Necessary ingredients:
1 fresh egg
1 forkful of MM Local peppers (hot or mild)
1/2 cup oatmeal
Wonderful additions:
2-3 Kale leaves, loosely chopped, washed
some of your favorite cheese (grated up)
Here how it works:
Start cooking your oatmeal on the stove, 1/2 cup oats with a cup of water, cover over medium-low heat.
Next heat your skillet on medium. Drizzle some olive oil on the pan or use butter, whichever you prefer. Add a forkful of the MM Local peppers, let them cook for a minute or two. Add the chopped kale and cover it for about 2 minutes (the kale will cook nicely if there is some water left on it from rising it).
Check on your oats, remove if done, sprinkle cheese on top and set aside.
Move the kale and peppers to the side of your skillet to leave room to crack your egg in. Cover again for 3 minutes (depending on how runny you want your yolk the cook time may vary). Once the egg is cooked, your done. Simply put your oatmeal in a bowl, place your egg on top with the kale and peppers. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy this healthy and flavorful breakfast!
