Rosemary Pears, Ice Cream and Balsamic
Dec 14 It may sound exotic, but this combination is one for the ages. The sweetness of a high-quality, aged (or simply reduced) balsamic vinegar with vanilla bean ice cream, plus the slight herbal hint of our pears with rosemary is a combination to savor. You'll be replacing chocolate sauce and sprinkles with balsamic and MM Local Pears in no time.
1 Serving (but so easy to make more!)
Ingredients:
- 2 Healthy scoops Vanilla Bean (or other similar flavored) Ice Cream
- 2 MM Local Paonia Pears (sliced into quarters, lengthwise)
- 1 tsp. Balsamic Vinegar (use thick, syrupy aged balsalmic, or try reducing some on your own!)
- 1 sprig rosemary
How to Make it:
optional: Reduce balsamic. In your smallest saucepan, pour about 1/2 cup balsamic to cover the bottom of the pan, heat over medium heat until boiling and reduce to about one-half volume. Good instructional video here.
Place sliced MM Local Pears over ice cream and slowly drizzle (starting with a tsp.) balsamic over the top. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary for extra style points.
Sit back, and savor the wonderful, ripe flavors of MM Local Pears from the Western Slope and a fantastic combination of Balsamic Vinegar.
